How it works

Parse every nonempty row at the first vertical bar and keep the two card sides linked.
Securely shuffle card-row positions and select the requested count under the repeat rule.
Choose the display side according to the direction control while retaining the paired answer.

Worked example

The card “latitude | distance north or south of the equator” stays paired even when the back side becomes the prompt.

Limits and interpretation

At most 1,000 cards and 100,000 characters are accepted.
Rows without two nonempty sides are rejected rather than guessed.
Mixed direction is random per card and is not spaced-repetition scheduling.
