How it works
- Validate committee size bounds and stable member rows.
- Securely seed a bounded assignment search that fills minimums, respects maximums, and avoids prohibited pairs.
- Show every committee, unassigned member, and unsatisfied minimum rather than hiding an incomplete solution.
Worked example
Twelve members and three committees sized 3–4 can place everyone while leaving each committee within bounds.
Limits and interpretation
- At most 500 members, 100 committees, and 1,000 avoid pairs are accepted.
- The bounded search may report no solution even when a very complex solution exists.
- Skills, representation, conflicts of interest, and governance rules require organizer review.
Privacy
Your inputs and generated results stay in this browser. This tool does not put them in a URL, analytics event, server log, or external request.
Frequently asked questions
- How does Committee Assignment Generator make its random choices?
- Secure randomized candidate orders seed the bounded constraint search; no participant is silently removed.
- Does Committee Assignment Generator upload my inputs or results?
- No. Names, schedules, assignments, and results remain in this browser tab and are never sent to a server.
- When should I use Committee Assignment Generator?
- Use it to propose low-stakes committee rosters when size and avoid-pair requirements are explicit and humans approve the result.
