How it works
- Parse every fixture into exactly two stable participant labels.
- Use secure binary draws, optionally preferring the orientation that reduces current home/away imbalance.
- Return home, away, draw side, cumulative balance, and optional reversed second legs.
Worked example
Cedar | Harbor can draw Cedar home and Harbor away; a second leg reverses the pair deterministically.
Limits and interpretation
- At most 5,000 fixtures and 5,000 distinct team labels are accepted.
- Balancing is a local heuristic and cannot guarantee perfect equality for every fixture graph.
- Venue availability and competition rules are not considered.
Privacy
Your inputs and generated results stay in this browser. This tool does not put them in a URL, analytics event, server log, or external request.
Frequently asked questions
- How does Home or Away Draw make its random choices?
- Each unconstrained orientation uses a secure one-bit-equivalent draw; balance mode uses randomness only when orientations are equally balanced.
- Does Home or Away Draw upload my inputs or results?
- No. Player names, teams, results, and custom settings stay in the current browser tab and are not uploaded.
- When should I use Home or Away Draw?
- Use it for a transparent initial venue-side draw before organizers check real venue and competition constraints.
