How it works

  1. Create the available numbered lane list after validating blocked lanes.
  2. Securely shuffle competitors and lanes for random mode, or map listed seeds center-out for seeded mode.
  3. Return lane order plus an unassigned competitor list when available lanes are insufficient.

Worked example

Eight competitors and eight available lanes produce one stable competitor identity per numbered lane.

Limits and interpretation

  • The tool supports 2–20 lane numbers and up to 500 competitors.
  • Center-lane preference is a generic pattern and may not match sport-specific rules.
  • Lane geometry, qualifying marks, accessibility, and governing-body rules require organizer review.
