Group by score, securely break exact ties, and run a bounded adjacent-float pairing search.

Worked example

Players on three points pair within their score group first; an unmatched player may float to the two-point group.

Limits and interpretation

One round accepts 2–500 uniquely named players and up to 50 prior rounds of opponent text.
This is a transparent simplified Swiss pairing, not FIDE or another federation's certified algorithm.
Dense rematch or side constraints may make a perfect pairing impossible and will be flagged.
