How it works
- Parse applicant rows, slot capacities, and explicit unavailability pairs.
- Securely establish applicant priority, then assign each to an eligible remaining slot.
- Return slot rosters, unassigned applicants, and an optional secure waitlist order.
Worked example
Six applicants and three two-person slots can fill exactly when each applicant has at least one eligible slot.
Limits and interpretation
- At most 2,000 applicants, 500 slot rows, and 10,000 capacity places are accepted.
- The lottery treats all eligible slots equally and does not rank preferences; a waitlist remains subject to availability.
- Impossible availability leaves applicants unassigned or waitlisted instead of placing them in a blocked slot.
Privacy
Your inputs and generated results stay in this browser. This tool does not put them in a URL, analytics event, server log, or external request.
Frequently asked questions
- How does Time-Slot Lottery make its random choices?

- When should I use Time-Slot Lottery?
- Use it for low-stakes appointment or presentation slots when availability is binary and a transparent lottery is acceptable.
